PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

HD UV Laser Subsurface Engraving Machine

Our advanced HD UV laser subsurface engraving machine is designed for precision 3D engraving within transparent materials like crystal and glass. With its state-of-the-art UV laser technology, this machine can bring intricate 3D designs to life inside the material without damaging the surface.

Differences Between Air Cooled & Water Cooled Model:

The performance is exactly same. The difference is working environment temperature requirements. The air-cooled model operates within a temperature range of -5 to 35°C, while the water-cooled model can function in temperatures from -5 to 45°C. The water-cooled model is better suited for hotter climates and offers more stable performance in high-temperature environments. If your workplace is typically hot, we recommend choosing the water-cooled model. On the other hand, the air-cooled laser eliminates the need for a water chiller, offering advantages such as simpler installation and maintenance, lower noise, smaller size, lighter weight, and easier transportation.

Applications & Working Principles

This machine uses UV laser technology to create tiny fractures or "bubbles" inside transparent materials. By carefully focusing the laser at precise coordinates, these fractures come together to form detailed 3D images and patterns within the material, creating a floating effect.

Common applications include creating high-end awards, personalized gifts, home décor, and intricate glass artwork. Our UV laser machine offers versatility beyond 3D subsurface engraving, enabling 2D surface marking on various materials like plastic, wood, leather, and silicone.

Key Use Cases

  • Crystal Awards & Trophies: Ideal for luxury 3D-engraved recognition pieces.
  • Home & Corporate Décor: Stunning internal engravings on glass for both personal and professional settings.
  • Souvenirs & Gifts: Create personalized 3D designs inside glass for memorable keepsakes.

3D Subsurface Engraving vs. 2D Subsurface Engraving vs. 2D Surface Engraving

3D Subsurface Engraving involves creating intricate three-dimensional images within a transparent material, such as glass or crystal. This method allows viewers to see the design from multiple angles, adding depth and realism that cannot be achieved with surface or 2D subsurface engraving. Additionally, the outer surface of the object remains untouched, maintaining its smoothness and transparency.

2D Subsurface Engraving, on the other hand, produces two-dimensional designs beneath the surface of the material. While it also preserves the smooth, unaltered exterior, the resulting image is flat, without the depth and multi-angle visibility offered by 3D subsurface engraving. This technique is ideal for detailed 2D images that need to be embedded within the material without affecting its surface.

2D Surface Engraving is the most common technique, where designs are etched directly onto the material’s surface. This method creates a textured, two-dimensional image that is visible from only one side. While it may alter the smoothness of the surface, it is suitable for simpler, less complex designs.

Comparison of UV Laser & Green Laser

Higher Engraving Precision
UV laser has a shorter wavelength than green laser (typically 355 nm for UV vs. 532 nm for green), which allows UV lasers to focus into smaller laser spots. This means that it can engrave finer and smaller details. Additionally, the smaller laser spot of UV laser creates smaller "bubbles" inside the glass, and the gaps between each "bubble" can also be reduced. Therefore, UV laser excels in micron-level precision engraving, making it suitable for producing high-resolution, complex 3D patterns.

Less Material Heat Damage
As UV laser is classified as a cold light source, it generates much less heat compared to green laser. This means less thermal damage to the material during the engraving process, especially when engraving transparent materials like crystal and glass. It helps avoid thermal deformation or cracks on the surface, ensuring the engraved areas remain smooth and transparent.

Wider Range of Material Compatibility
Generally, green laser is only suitable for subsurface engraving in glass, whereas UV laser, with its broader material compatibility, can also perform tasks beyond subsurface engraving, similar to a standard UV marking machine. It can mark materials like plastic, wood, paper, silicone, leather, and metal. This makes UV laser not only ideal for transparent material engraving but also versatile for various material processing task.

Why Choose Our Machine?

  1. Superior Detail: Our UV laser technology offers much smaller laser spots compared to green-light lasers used by most competitors. This allows for far more intricate details, even on small-scale designs.
  2. High & Stable Performance: The core components of the machine use industry-leading products, ensuring excellent performance and stable quality. Both water-cooled and air-cooled models offer ultra-high precision and an extended service life. The specially optimized optical system ensures that 3D engravings inside the glass are uniform, complete, and free from distortion.
  3. Wider Application: In addition to 3D subsurface engraving, our UV laser can perform surface marking on a variety of materials, such as plastic, glass, wood, leather, paper, and silicone—something green-light laser machines cannot achieve.
  4. Compact & Portable: Our machine is smaller and lighter, making it easy to transport and install in various settings.
  5. Affordable: Despite its advanced features, our machine is priced at one-third to half the cost of most laser subsurface engraving machines on the market.

Advanced Software for Customization

Our powerful software coordinates the complex engraving process with advanced algorithms. It supports STL and OBJ 3D file formats, allowing for high customization of designs. Users can easily adjust parameters such as point spacing, layer count, laser energy, and more to achieve precise results. The software also includes advanced visualization tools, enabling users to preview the expected outcome before engraving for easy fine-tuning.

High Precision Z-axis Lifting Platform:

Since the 50*50mm lens has a very short focal length, placing the product directly on the machine's aluminum platform might result in the laser focus not reaching the product surface. Therefore, the product needs to be elevated, and this Z-axis lifting platform can help you raise the product. You can also secure it to the panel using screws, which ensures the stability of the object being engraved and allows for precise height adjustments at any time. Of course, you can also use other sturdy objects to place your product on.
